Associate of Science in Computer Science
The Associate of Science in Computer Science at Murray State College strives to provide up to date, sound instruction in the computer science discipline to ensure students gain a firm foundation in core concepts, problem-solving and decision-making skills, and the competencies necessary to communicate effectively with information technology professionals, customers, and team members. Students are exposed to various computer applications, hardware, software (both operating systems and languages), and more.
Coursework places a substantial emphasis on hands-on, practical experience of the concepts and skills taught, creating an opportunity to immediately apply new knowledge, build skills, and inspire lifelong learning in the discipline. Graduates are able to demonstrate to employers that they have gained a general knowledge of information technology systems, including programming languages and networking concepts, and the interpersonal skills essential in today’s job market.
