General Admission Requirements

If you are ready to make a positive step toward earning your degree online, Murray State College is the right place for you. The application process is quick and easy, and we welcome students from a variety of backgrounds. We offer many opportunities for admission and take an individualized approach to the selection process:

Adult Students: Students who meet the following criteria are eligible for admittance under the Special Adult Admission policy:

  • Students 21 years of age and older.
  • Students on active military duty.
  • Non-high school graduates whose high school class has graduated and who have participated in the ACT or SAT. The test scores must be within three years. The Registrar may allow exceptions for students with a GED whose high school class has not graduated. 

First-time Freshman: There are numerous methods for which admission to Murray State College can be gained for applicants who are first-time freshmen or who have not yet earned transferable credits. We offer flexible acceptance statuses that allow us to accommodate students with diverse prior educational experiences.
